SXBlue II GPS Unit Provides Sub-meter Accuracy Without Post Processing
The SXBlue II GPS unit offers sub-meter GPS performance with no need to do a post processing correction. It is totally waterproof, shock resistant, and suitable for demanding field conditions. It is also extremely easy to use. The SXBlue II uses the WAAS satellites to provide a real time DGPS position. It is very unique in that it can continue to apply a real time correction for 45 minutes or longer, even if the WAAS satellites are temporarily blocked by tree canopy
or tall buildings.
The GPS data is transferred from the SXBlue II GPS unit to a pocket PC or laptop via Bluetooth or an RS232 cable. Most people use Bluetooth, as it provides a solid connection, with no wires to get tangled.
The SXBlue is capable of providing excellent accuracy under heavy tree canopy and around tall buildings. It is frequently used in forestry applications such as traversing timber sales, navigating from plot to plot, traversing roads, doing culvert surveys, and much more. It also works extremely well in urban environments for collecting a variety of utility, street, and vegetation data.
